By releasing 2nd album...
?Jeonghyo Gugak Cultural Foundation and Jeonghyo Gugak Museum released 2nd Album after Jeonghyo 1st Album through careful selection from our priceless sound sources kept, which foreigners also could enjoy hearing.
?In an era of rapid change, it will be a bit natural that the world of Culture and Arts also needs to meet the pace with this change. It will be also natural that our reproduction of all music is far behind from the era and insufficient as time passed by if we see how fairly the reproduction was developed to stand shoulder to shoulder against the state of period. ?So the value of existence of intangible cultural assets is important and that is why today¡¯s players are required to overcome their own teachers through continual efforts and skills. In other words, we can not get there from here no matter how we are good to read a musical note or have profound knowledge in Western music. ?¡®Deuggong¡¯ seasoned from tens of thousands repetition is a way to become a master as it gives mature cultivation. Like this, the sound sources which masters played around 100 years ago can not be easily changed and it could be meaningless if we keep it reproduced and recorded. So the sound sources and image materials which Jeonghyo Cultural and Art Foundation has kept is highly valuable and priceless. In this point of view, we made this album to widely introduce people who do not have such valuable sound sources at Jeonghyo Gugak Museum. ?So the existence and preservation of intangible sound sources becomes highly valuable by itself as it goes down to prosperity in our history. Jeanghyo Gugak Cultural Foundation will chronicle such valuable data in succession and perpetuate it for our next generation to ennoble Korean Traditional Arts better. At this point, how we can add any words further onto the content of cultural value¡¦

Director Kim Ho Seong Commentary on Song title
1. ¡®Seak¡¯ ensemble - Taryeong This is the 8th song of ¡®Yeongsan Hoesang¡¯ with 8/12 tempo merry tune. It calls Woorimryeong(éë×ýÖÂ) as stage name when playing a piece of Taryeong. 2. Gagok - Pyeon-lak / Singer : Kim Ho Seong Gagok is a masterpiece of Korean traditional songs, it is delivered by 26 male & 25 female singers. While Sijosi is the 3rd verse, Gagok is the fifth verse and it consists of prelude(Daeyeoeum), interlude(Jungyeoeum) and postlude. As 10-beat Pyeon jangdan(a rhythm pattern), Pyeon-lak goes with ujo until the third verse finished and changes its mode to Byeonjo, Gyemyeon from interlude(Jungyeoeum) and ends at a bit slow tempo. 3. Solo - Cheongsunggok / Danso : Bong Hae Ryong Danso is a bamboo flute and its tune is clear and beautiful. Danso is a small instrument, however, the reason why danso solo becames the best of the best solo performance is because it carries high and clear sounds. 4. Wind ensemble - Jeongak Sujecheon This is bitkkarak Jeongeupa and it is one of the representative Korean ceremonial music, which bears a meaning of wishes to get an eternal life like sky indwell in. 5. Gyeonggiminyo(folk song) - Arirang / Singer : Anh Bi Chi, Choi Yeong Suk, Park So Yeon Arirang places after Korean national anthem. Although each region in Korean peninsula has its own version of Arirang, the original version is the one in Seoul. 6. Gayageum in corrus - Honam province song/ Singer : Park Gwi Hui As a main singer plays Gayageum, she plays ¡®Danga¡¯(ÓÊ°), Pansori Nundemok, Minyo. 7. Gayageum Sanjo(Ê¡å¦ÐÖߤðà) - Gangtaehongryu / Gayageum : Won Ok Hwa As the original form of Sanjo, it starts with Ba(Gayageum Sanjo), Gayageum solo which is a representative solo folks music, Geomungo, Jeotdae, Ajeng, Danso, and up to Chulgeum in an order. As keys and rhythms of Gayageum Sanjo are the same format with Pansori, it is the ultimate by raising degree of completeness through tearing and plunking 12 strings of Gayageum. This is Won Ok Hwa¡¯s Gayageum Sanjo recorded at a studio in Busan Dongrae in 1950¡¯s, who was Kang Tae Hong¡¯s first student. 8. Chang and Ochestral music - ¡®belly maturates¡¯ Jungtaryeong / Chang(Singer) : Kim Dong Ae in a year of 1972, Korean traditional music was staged by orchestrating like Western Opera and received tremendous ovations(Singer : Kim Dong Ae). Kim Hui Jo, Western music composer, started staging and this performance received steady attention from music performance area regardless of regions and helped produce many composers and arrangers in Korean Traditional music fields. This song is a part of Kim Dong Ae¡¯s Simchungga sang in her 30s¡¯ when she became popular after got bachelor degree which will allows us to take a time to feel her fresh figure. 9. Korean Traditional Performing music - Samulnori Taepyeongso Sinawi / Singer : Seo Yong Seok and others. Sinawi is a music used when performing an exorcism or good fortune. different music instruments are played in a quite free way whenever the ceremony changes accordingly, this melody are excellent as it seems blowing out like a quite cool breeze. How it is fantastic as Seo Yong Seok plays Nalari(Taepyeongso) afterwards..
